The Orlando Magic have desperately needed a point guard, but Ja Morant and Darius Garland are off the board at this point in the draft and it far too early to select Ayo Dosunmu, Tre Jones, or Coby White. As a result, they select Keldon Johnson out of Kentucky.
Johnson is a complete scorer; he has can score with ease at all three levels. He is shooting 41.4% from three this season and can finish at the rim or pull up from mid-range. Johnson is not an elite athlete, but the Magic need a shooter more than another athlete. Aaron Gordon, Mo Bamba, Jonathan Isaac, and Markelle Fultz are all athletic players that like to score at the rim and are not elite shooters. Johnson would be a perfect fit in the rotation and hopefully, could eventually develop into the go to guy on offense.
