De’Andre Hunter fits the two-way wing archetype that NBA teams value more than ever in the modern era. He is a great shooter connecting on 46.3% of his three-point attempts this season and clearly has NBA range. Although he is not an elite athlete, he can still finish inside. On the defensive end, he has a high defensive IQ and has the body to matchup with perimeter and interior players.

Hunter is not a player who will immediately jump out to you when you watch him. He plays conservatively and does not have top end athleticism or ball handling ability. However, he can simply score the basketball and play consistent defense. That is valuable in today’s league and his skillset could help be a difference maker as a rookie. Miami already has Bam Adebayo as their center of the future. and Justise Winslow has been fantastic after being shifted over to point guard. Josh Richardson and Hunter would give the Heat a talented perimeter duo that can compete on both ends of the floor.
