Ryan Anderson
Although Ryan Anderson‘s name has not been included in recent trade or buyout rumors, it only makes sense for him to be bought out. Anderson has not seen the court since December 4th; he only played a total of five minutes in that game by the way.
The Phoenix Suns are in last place in the Western Conference with a record of only 11-43 and are not definitely not competing for anything this season. It does not make sense for the Suns to award minutes to the 30-year-old Anderson over younger forwards such as TJ Warren, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Jackson.
At the same time, it does not make sense for Anderson to be riding the bench on a tanking team. He is still only 30 years old and should have a couple of years of basketball left. Anderson is not the most complete player in the league, but he has proven himself to be a good shooter throughout his career. Anderson shot 40.3% and 38.6% from three during his two years in Houston.
The Suns will have a very difficult time trying to find any buyers for his $20.4 million cap figure and he should be bought out.
Anderson would not be the most exciting pickup for the Blazers. He is very limited defensively and would not move the needle as much as Matthews or Smith. However, he is not bad as a shooter at the end of the bench.
