Marc Gasol to the Portland Trail Blazers: Thoughts From Rip City Project and Beale Street Bears Writers

The February 7th NBA trade deadline is quickly approaching and the Portland Trail Blazers are rumored to be interested in Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies.

Portland Trail Blazers fans have been excited leading up to the deadline after reports that they were aggressively pursuing Marc Gasol. Gasol is one of the biggest names available at this year’s deadline, so the buzz is understandable.

Do they realistically have a shot at Gasol, though? How would he fit with this Blazers squad? These are questions I’ve wondered since hearing the rumors.

I also wanted to hear from someone on both sides of these rumors to see what they thought of a potential trade. I, Shade Piper (@thelob_shade) of Rip City Project, set up an interview with Chris Kern (@chriskern11) of Beale Street Bears to get his thoughts on the potential trade, Gasol’s fit with Portland, who he thinks will be involved in the trade, and how realistic the chances of a deal actually are.
