Should the Portland Trail Blazers consider trading for Julius Randle, Nikola Mirotic, or E’Twaun Moore at the trade deadline?
Anthony Davis‘s trade request has dominated the news cycle and rightfully so. Davis is a once in a generation talent, and the Portland Trail Blazers should absolutely try to acquire him. However, one important piece of news has been lost in the shuffle. The New Orleans Pelicans have also made E’Twaun Moore, Julius Randle, and Nikola Mirotic available on the trade market.
Zach Lowe of ESPN broke the news on the Lowe Post podcast:
So, should the Blazers consider trading for any of these players?
The Blazers have needed to acquire a wing for quite some time, but would E’Twaun Moore be a good fit? He should not cost much and is a solid rotational piece.
We also know that the front office may be interested in acquiring a power forward due to their reported interest in JaMychal Green of the Memphis Grizzlies. Either Nikola Mirotic or Julius Randle would become an instant upgrade at power forward, and the Blazers could even go all in on size and play Al-Farouq Aminu at small forward in certain lineups if he is not included in the trade.
Every team in the league is going to be interested in Davis. If the Blazers strike out on him, one of these talented players would be a nice consolation prize, but do they fit with the roster? I am going break down each player’s potential fit on the roster with the pieces that Portland has in place right now and if the front office should trade indeed for them. Let’s dive in.
