2019 NBA Mock Draft 2.0
By Jakob Ashlin
Cam Reddish has great size for a wing. He stands at 6’7″ with a 7’1″ wingspan. He is great at the getting to the free throw line and earned a reputation as a microwave scorer. He has top end athleticism and is a versatile defender. However, he has struggled with his shooting efficiency this year at Duke. Reddish can also sometimes take questionable shots. Regardless, the Hawks would suddenly have a lot of offensive firepower with Young, Reddish, and John Collins.
Nassir Little is perhaps the best perimeter defender in this draft. He is an explosive athlete and is still developing his offensive game. The Chicago Bulls need a perimeter defender to deploy with Zach LaVine and Little would fit the bill.
Ja Morant has risen up draft boards. Take a look at his averages: 24.1 points, 10.5 assists, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.9 steals. Morant has been in his class of his own. He is the best facilitator in the draft and is unstoppable in transition. His athleticism is only rivaled by Zion Williamson.
Reminder, that is a point guard. It is no secret that the Phoenix Suns need a point guard and Morant and Devin Booker could form a dynamic backcourt.
RJ Barrett is the most complete player in this year’s class. He has been very productive at Duke averaging 23.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. Barrett is a great passer for a small forward and could even run an offense. Barrett is crafty with the basketball and can always create space. He can finish inside and can score in a variety of ways. The Knicks would be thrilled to land Barrett on draft night.
Zion Williamson took over the top spot on many mock drafts a few months ago and has not looked back. We all know the scouting report. He has unmatched athleticism, is unstoppable once he gets to the rim, can handle the basketball, and moves excetionally well for a 285 pound man.
There is still questions about his fit in the NBA. What position is he going to play? Will he be able to bully NBA defenders? Nevertheless, the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be locked in on Williamson.
