Bill Walton’s time with the Portland Trail Blazers may have been short, but it was certainly impactful.

Walton was selected first overall by the Blazers in the 1974 NBA Draft after having a historic career at UCLA. He was limited to only 35 games in his rookie season due to injuries. However, he still averaged 12.8 points, 12.6 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.7 blocks.

Walton averaged 16.1 points and 13.4 rebounds the next season, while once again battling through various injuries.

The 1976-77 season proved to be a historical one for Walton. He averaged 18.6 points per game, while also leading the NBA in rebounds and blocks. He was selected to the All-Star team, All-Defensive first team, and All-NBA second team.

Walton was exceptional in the playoffs leading the Blazers to an NBA title and winning the Finals MVP in the process.

After winning a championship, Walton averaged 18.9 points per game and won the NBA MVP in 1977-78. That would be Walton’s last season in Portland.

Although Walton did not ever compete for scoring titles, he scored very efficiently. He has a career field goal percentage of 52.1 percent. He also has a higher scoring average in a Blazer uniform than every player behind him on our list except CJ McCollum.
