Since the Portland Trail Blazers are halfway through the regular season, we are going to analyze the team’s season so far and take a look ahead.

The Portland Trail Blazers are officially halfway through the regular season. It has been a season full of ups and downs, yet the Blazers currently own an impressive record of 24-17. They are actually off to their best start since 2014-15, which is astonishing considering that they picked up the three seed in the West last year.

At this point last season, the Blazers sat at 22-19. In the 2016-17 season, they were only 18-23 through 41 games. So, this season has surprisingly been one of this core’s strongest so far.

During the past two seasons, the Blazers have had a much stronger second half of the regular season, so hopefully, that statistical trend will continue.

The Blazers did not make many moves in the offseason, and they have had the same core for the past few seasons. However, there have been a number of surprises so far. There have also been some disappointments. If the team can continue to build off of their strong first half, they should be in great shape around playoff time.

Our team of writers here at Rip City Project will reflect back on the first half of the season and analyze what the Blazers have done well and what they could improve on. We are going to analyze the team’s strengths and weaknesses. Figure out who should play more and who should play less. We are also going to take an updated look at Portland’s playoff chances.

So without further ado, let’s dive in.
