Portland Trail Blazers: Two Potential Trades for Markelle Fultz
By Jakob Ashlin
Trade #2
If the Sixers are looking for long-term flexibility, then this is the trade for them to make. Zach Randolph is on an expiring deal. By unloading Fultz, they will save over $8.3 million this season and over $9.7 million next season. This will give them more room to re-sign Jimmy Butler or recruit other free agents.
In addition, they will receive a first-round pick and guard Anfernee Simons. Since they are not receiving anyone of value to them in the short-term, Simons will represent long-term potential.
The Blazers will receive Fultz plus Jonah Bolden to make the salaries work. Bolden was Philadelphia’s second-round pick in 2017. Since they are giving up Simons and a first rounder, the Blazers will receive an extra second round pick.
The Sacramento Kings will flip Randolph, who is out of their rotation, for a younger option in Meyers Leonard.
