Trade #1
It is hard to gauge Fultz’s trade value, but there is no way that the Sixers are receiving anything close to what they paid to acquire him.
However, this is not a bad deal for them considering the circumstances. Maurice Harkless is a solid two-way player who can help them win games in the Eastern Conference. He shot 41.5% from three last season and is a solid defender, as well.
The Sixers also get the Blazers first round pick for the upcoming draft and a future second rounder to give them long-term value.
This is a good gamble for Portland. Fultz still has massive offensive potential. Having him as the sixth man behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum could be unstoppable for opposing defenses. If Fultz thrives, the Blazers could also trade him for a higher price in the future.
Harkless is good, but the Blazers have been playing well without him. The first round pick is likely going to be in the 20-30 range, and the Blazers own all of their future first round picks. If Fultz does not pan out, it will not set the organization back.
