2019 NBA Mock Draft
By Jakob Ashlin
Paul Eboua plays for Stella Azzurra in Italy. He was born in Cameroon and has been playing professional basketball in Rome for a few years. Eboua is a 6’8″ wing with a 7’3″ wingspan. He has good athleticism and a nice feel for the game, but he needs to improve as a shooter and a ball handler to become a consistent threat offensively.
Like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bruno Caboclo, and many international prospects before him, Eboua is still largely a mystery. This can either be enticing or concerning for a front office.
The Boston Celtics currently have four first round picks, and I anticipate them attempting to package them to move up in the draft. If they cannot package them to move up, drafting and stashing the 18-year-old Eboua is a smart move. They do not have much room on their current roster. If Eboua is a bust, they did not lose much. If Eboua lives up to his potential, the Celtics roster gets even richer.
While Eboua is an intriguing prospect, he would not provide the Blazers any production in the short term.
