The Bad:

CJ McCollum had an awful game tonight. He was basically a no-show throughout all of regulation before hitting a couple big shots down the stretch.

Altogether, though, he shot 5/25 from the field for 13 points with four rebounds, four assists, and two turnovers. He hit only one of his nine three-point attempts. His inability to get going severely hurt the Blazers, and if they had been able to get just 70 percent of what they expect out of him, they could’ve easily been walking out of the Moda Center as winners.

The team shot poorly from beyond the arc. Some late-night heroics helped salvage the percentage but not by much.

As a team, the Blazers shot 11/39 from deep. Lillard and McCollum were major culprits of this bad showing, going a combined 3/19.

They were also turnover-prone. Had the Blazers taken better care of the ball in transition during the third quarter, they likely could’ve built up a lead and not had to deal with the late-game pressure. But alas, they were sloppy with the ball.

They committed 19 turnovers compared to the Wizards’ 10.
