Minnesota had a rough opening week, going 1-2 with their only victory coming at home against the LeBron-less Cleveland Cavaliers. The Timberwolves started with a 112-108 loss in San Antonio. Despite the loss, Minnesota recovered, claiming a 131-123 victory over the Cavaliers. However, the season quickly darkened, as the Timberwolves fell to the Dallas Maverics to quickly slip to 1-2.

Minnesota has been a fantastic offensive team this season, their 120.8 offensive ranking good for second in the Association. The Timberwolves’ defense, however, is disastrous. Minnesota’s defensive ranking is 121.0, third worst in the NBA. Distraught star Jimmy Butler has been excellent, averaging 28 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in the first two games before taking game three off for rest. In a turbulent season, Butler remains a star in the NBA.

Minnesota (1-2) hosts the Indiana pacers tonight, travels to Toronto to play the Raptors on Wednesday, and hosts the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
