Blazers: 5 goals for Seth Curry in his first season back from injury

Stay healthy
Seth Curry suffered a stress reaction in his left tibia prior to the start of the 2017-2018 season. Dallas gave the injury an indefinite timetable, and he stayed true to their diagnosis. Curry sat until February, when he opted to have season-ending surgery for the leg ailment.
Doctors then placed a 12-14 week timetable for recovery, which has passed now. According to his agent, Curry has been engaged in basketball activities since the end of May. Additionally, recent videos show him playing 5-on-5 basketball for the first time in 10 months.

In the video, Curry looks as though he’s playing without any restrictions. On a fastbreak, though, he chose to lay it in instead of dunking. (He states his regret of not dunking in the Instagram video’s caption.)
Even though the Blazers have an extremely deep backcourt rotation, they need Curry to stay healthy. He’s going to be the primary reserve guard, as well as the team’s best and most consistent three-point shooter.
Curry also needs to stay healthy for his own sake. His deal with Portland is only partially guaranteed, so another injury-ridden season could have him losing money and one the market again.
The Blazers don’t have the brightest history with injuries, so keeping Curry healthy for all 82 games signals a shift in this unluckiness.
