West hasn’t started a game for Golden State, but he played in 73 games off the bench in 2017-2018. And he averaged 6.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 blocks in 13.7 minutes per game.
West is a versatile big man, playing minutes at small forward, power forward and center for the Warriors. He’s a solid shooter: 57.1 percent FGs; 37.5 percent from three; and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line. And West is also good at avoiding fouls, picking up only 1.6 personal fouls per game.
Although the veteran will be 38 when the 2018-2019 season begins, he has shown consistent production throughout his career, including his last two seasons. West played on a one-year deal worth just over $2.3 million. So he could be a cheap, one- to two-year patch that the Blazers could use until they address this need in the draft.
