While the Blazers missed out on trade targets such as DeAndre Jordan and Kent Bazemore, many fans are still happy with the financially-motivated trade by Neil Olshey.

The Portland Trail Blazers were one of a few teams to make a trade deadline move. Neil Olshey sent off Noah Vonleh and cash in return for the 32 year-old international player, Milovan Rakovich.

The move saved owner Paul Allen a few million in luxury tax fees, plus dodged starting the clock on the league’s new repeater tax.

But, as expected, many fans were let down by the quiet trade deadline. The team needs an extra kick to get out of the Western Conference playoff battle, and trading was the only way to do it.

Three of our contributors decided to put their feelings on paper about Portland’s deadline. Surprisingly, unlike a lot of Rip City fans, they weren’t overly upset with the outcome of Feb. 8.
