Second Quarter
The second quarter contained continued dominance by Portland, without much production from McCollum. In fact, the Blazers offense slowed to Chicago’s level. Portland scores 24 points in the quarter and were outscored by one point.
Portland still led 67-44, shooting 67 percent, compared to just 31 percent for Chicago.
The Bulls looked lost on offense, couldn’t make a three and had no explosiveness. The absence of Nikola Mirotic was very apparent.
At halftime, McCollum had 32 points and four rebounds. Chicago held him to zero three-point attempts in the second quarter. Lillard had nine points and four assists on 3-of-5 shooting. For the Bulls, Lavine led in scoring with 12 points. He had the best field goal percentage on the team at the half, with 44 percent. Bobby Portis contributed eight points and seven rebounds off the bench, but shot 30 percent.
