Stotts and Trail Blazers History

Portland has had 14 head coaches; Stotts is the franchise’s fourth-winningest. He’s also tied with Rick Adelman for third-longest-tenured Trail Blazers coach, with six seasons under his belt.

If Portland wins 17 more games this season, Stotts will surpass Nate McMillan (266 wins) for third all-time. There are 33 games left in the season, so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that Stotts will finish the season as the third-winningest coach in franchise history.

At that point, only Adelman (291 wins) and Jack Ramsay (453 wins) will have more victories as Trail Blazers head coach than Stotts.

Furthermore, I would argue that Stotts’ winning percentage as Trail Blazers coach (.545) is remarkable considering the rosters he’s been saddled with since his arrival in 2012.
