Damian Lillard set to bring bars to NBA 2K18 soundtrack
The NBA 2K series is the best basketball video game in production, so they’re bringing the NBA’s best rapper, Damian Lillard, aboard for the NBA 2K18 soundtrack.
NBA 2K is taking their connection to players to a whole new level, as Damian Lillard, Portland Trail Blazers star and rapper, will have two tracks on the NBA 2K18 soundtrack.
NBA 2K caters to NBA players and their music taste. In 2014, LeBron James curated the entire game’s soundtrack himself. Jay-Z, former minority owner of the Brooklyn Nets, was the executive producer of the soundtrack for 2K13.
Having a great soundtrack only makes the game more enjoyable, yet the 2K franchise houses millions of players, so song preferences will vary.
But if anyone has heard Damian Lillard, aka Dame D.O.L.L.A, spit bars, you can’t help but like him.
Lillard started making noise musically in 2015. He appeared on Sway in the Morning, a renowned rap radio show, and impressed with his freestyle. The Best Rapper in the NBA title only grew from there.
He dropped his first official song, “Soldier in the Game”, on his SoundCloud during the 2015 offseason.
From there, his #MusicMonday drops drew a crowd for the rest of the summer. Then, in October of 2016, Lillard dropped a full-length album, The Letter O. He paid homage to his Oakland roots, as well as his time at Weber State.
His track “Wasatch Front” details his playing time as a Wildcat, and the work put in to get drafted sixth overall. (Personally, this song is my favorite on the album.)
And, it just so happens, “Wasatch Front” will be one of two tracks Dame D.O.L.L.A has on the NBA 2K18 soundtrack.
The second is a new Dame track, but can only be unlocked while playing the game’s MyPLAYER mode, in which you create a player and live their NBA journey. Lillard shared the news today via Twitter:
It’s impressive to see Lillard already making a big jump like the NBA 2K18 soundtrack.

From releasing his first album a little under a year ago, to a video game soundtrack played by millions.
Give it up for Dame D.O.L.L.A., who makes killer songs while working out in the offseason. He’s dominating two industries, and improving his status in both along the way.
