The Trail Blazers will look to turn the tide in Portland

The Trail Blazers will find themselves in an 0-2 hole when they take the court tonight in Portland. Nobody expected the opening round to be easy, but several people thought (especially Blazers’ fans) that the games would be competitive. The first two games haven’t reflected that belief, as both games ended in blow-outs.

Although the outlook seems gloomy, there are still several reasons to believe that the Trail Blazers can find success in game three. After the midseason break, the Trail Blazers have only lost three consecutive games once. The Portland bench hasn’t played up to par so far in the series, but they should be able to up their defense and offensive efforts at home. Terry Stotts will continue to make adjustments, which will hopefully continue to open up looks for the offense. Eventually those shots will start falling.

Perhaps the biggest burden will be carried on the shoulders of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. The first two games were rough to say the least, but betting on these two talented guards is often a winning proposition. The energetic Rip City crowd has always been a solid source of fuel for inspiring Lillard performances.

To lift the spirits of all the Rip City faithful, we asked five of our writers to come up with a reason for victory in game three. The answers are in, now lets find out why the Trail Blazers are about to join the Rockets and Celtics as teams to find success upon their return home.
