Who will the Trail Blazers face in the NBA Playoffs?

The Western Conference is incredibly top heavy this year. The top four teams could all be considered legitimate title contenders. This will make the opening round of the playoffs a nightmare for the bottom four of the conference, but Portland fans shouldn’t panic. The Trail Blazers have made it a habit of exceeding expectations this year and it is trend that will hopefully continue in the post season.

Who the Trail Blazers meet in the opening round will be crucial to their success. The Warriors and Spurs sit in the top two spots. Both teams are on historic runs and only have a total of 16 losses between the two of them. As it stands right now Portland is in danger of facing one of these two powerhouses. We outlined the playoff picture already this week, but now we shift the focus to who is the most beatable opponent in the top four of the Western Conference.

Each team at the top poses their own unique threat, so it is tough to break down this list. We will attempt to do just that, let’s now look at each team and how they relate to Portland’s style of play. Each team will be ranked by their degree of difficulty for the Trail Blazers (one being the toughest).
