5.) Brandon Roy

Best Season: 2008-09 – 22.6 PPG / .480 FG%

Despite Roy’s short tenure with the Trail Blazers, he made a huge impact in the hearts of all Portland fans. He also impacted the sleeping habits of opposing teams, as he was a match up nightmare for defenses. He could score from anywhere on the court. He was able to slice to the basket with ease, it often looked like he wasn’t expending any effort at all (almost like he was moving at half speed). Don’t let the look fool you, he rarely had a problem getting to the spot he wanted to.

Sadly Roy’s time with the Trail Blazers was cut short due to repeat knee injuries. Before he left he gave the fans one last show in the 2011 NBA Playoffs. He willed Portland to victory against the Mavericks (eventual Champions that year) with a memorable scoring outburst in the fourth quarter (video above). Before Lillard’s game six heroics against the Rockets, this was the signature sequence for a new generation of Trail Blazers fans.
