7.) Ed Davis (Last Month: 5)
Last ten games: 7.1 PPG / 0.7 BPG / 7.8 RPG
Best game: 1/15 vs BKN – 14 PTS / 1 BLK / 10 REB
Davis has carved out his niche in Portland and that spot is under the offensive glass. Long walks on the beach and creating second chance shots are just two of Davis’ favorite pastimes. He has had nine or more rebounds in five out of his last ten games, all while shooting .628 from the field. His FT% is taking baby steps, as he shot above 50% on the month.
Davis knows his role and he doesn’t try to play outside of it. He seems content with being a quality third big. His talent and contentment are a huge factor in the infectious chemistry emanating out of the Trail Blazers’ locker room.
8.) Gerald Henderson (Last Month: 9)
Last ten games: 6.7 PPG / 1.1 APG / 2.4 RPG
Best game: 1/3 vs DEN – 19 PTS / 2 AST / 4 REB
Now fully recovered from offseason hip surgery, Henderson is beginning to make an impact for Portland off of the bench. He has been able to provide the Trail Blazers with instant offense throughout the month. The biggest thing holding Henderson back is the depth in front of him on the roster. It will be interesting to see if Henderson remains on the roster after the trade deadline.
9.) Noah Vonleh (Last Month: 8)
Last ten games: 4.2 PPG / 5.1 RPG
Best game: 1/16 vs PHI – 9 PTS / 5 REB
Vonleh continues to hold onto the starting power forward spot for the Trail Blazers. The experience will help Vonleh down the road, but it isn’t doing a lot for Portland in the short term. His confidence in his offensive ability has noticeably improved, now the Blazers just need it to translate to the box score. On the positive side, Vonleh was the lone bright spot in the blow out loss to the Sixers.
