The Washington Wizards

This Wizards have fallen off of a cliff after a strong 2015 playoffs. Washington is currently in last place in the Southeast Division with a 13-14 record. Marcin Gortat and Nene have both missed time to open the season, and it has proven disastrous for the Wizards. It appears that they will have to make a few moves to climb into the playoffs in the surprisingly strong Eastern Conference.

While they possess one of the most talented guard tandems (John Wall, Bradley Beal) in the league, the Wizards need to iron out their big man rotation. They also appear to have a three players at the small forward spot with similar skill sets. All of this could lead to a serious re-calibration for the squad from DC.

Potential Trade Parts:

Nene – The injury plagued Brazilian might see his time in Washington come to an early end. With only one year left on his contract, the 33 years old could provide a contender with flexible veteran option off of the bench. This is where Portland comes into play. The Trail Blazers have the cap space to help move the 13 million dollar cap hit that Nene carries. It could net Neil Olshey some draft considerations in the process.

Otto Porter Jr. – The former 3rd pick in the 2013 NBA Draft could be in desperate need of a scenery change. Porter is shooting an abysmal .274 from beyond the arc this year. The Wizards also drafted Kelly Oubre Jr. this offseason, which could lead to Porter getting the hook. While the Trail Blazers already have several options at the small forward position, it might be worth a shot to try to unlock the true potential of the former Georgetown wing.
