Shop Gerald Henderson to Contenders
It was once thought that Henderson would be the starter at the two guard to start the season, but C.J. McCollum has put that notion to rest. Even more surprising is the sudden rise of Allen Crabbe. This has led to Henderson having to compete for minutes at arguably the deepest position on the the roster.
Henderson has played enough in this league for you to know what you are going to get (a willing defender, and a streaky scorer), and a contender could bite on the chance to add him for a playoff run. The Clippers are perfect candidate to be buyers for a guy like Henderson.

The perimeter play has been lacking for LAC this season, and a consistent veteran could be the cure to their troubles. Henderson’s one year contract would be low risk investment for Doc Rivers. Portland could receive a low cost veteran point guard (Pablo Prigioni) and a project player (Lance Stephenson) in return. It might not be the splashiest exchange, but could be a wise move for the short/long term plans for the Trail Blazers.
Prigioni would give Terry Stotts a veteran option to handle the ball while Damian Lillard rests. These are minutes that Stotts seems hesitant to hand over to Tim Frazier. While Stephenson is currently wearing out his welcome in his third city in as many years, he could benefit by moving to the dimmer lights of Portland. Stephenson has shown glimpses of being lock-down defender, a role that is essential for any rotation that features Lillard.
