Dorell Wright’s son, Dash, born May 16, 2015
By David MacKay
Mia Wright, wife of Portland Trail Blazers forward Dorell Wright, gave birth to their long awaited son Dash on Saturday, May 16. Despite doctor projections that Dash would arrive well before his initial due date, he turned out to be a day late (to his mother’s chagrin). Dorell announced their son’s birth via Twitter.
Dash is the happy couple’s second child together. Mia and Dorell have been together since 2006, and Devin Quentin Dwyane Wright (named for godfathers Dwyane Wade and Quentin Richardson) was born to them on February 25, 2008. No word has yet been given regarding Dash’s full name.
You may recall that Mia and Dorell wed last August, in the presence of their close friends from all around the nation. High-profile guests in attendance included Chris Bosh and wife Adrienne, the aforementioned Wade and wife Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry and wife Ayesha, Russell Westbrook, Udonis Haslem, Mo Williams, Ekpe Udoh, and Damian Lillard among others.
We are immensely happy for the Wright family as they continue to love and grow. This is a wonderful time for an addition, as Dorell has the next few months to bond with his newborn during the off-season. Congratulations, Mia and Dorell! Welcome, Dash! Stay strong, Devin.
