I covered most aspects of this game in a previous article, but what I had not mentioned at the time was Lillard’s zero turnovers. In 37 minutes, while taking 17 shots, Lillard coughed the ball up not a single time. Protecting the ball is of paramount importance, and to do such an excellent job of this while being called upon to be a focal point of a team’s offense is even more impressive. The mental drain can be exhausting, and sometimes mistakes just happen. Not this game. Lillard even threw a block in for good measure.
