Such an entertaining, inspiring and original title to a post I know. Bear with me here people.
I’m not sure I could preview tonight’s games in any sort of depth. Generally speaking, once you get to Games 4 and 5 you have a good idea where the series is going. You already know what adjustments have to be made and if a team hasn’t made them yet it’s probably too late. I’d just end up saying the same old things so here’s what I think is going to happen. Orlando needs to close Toronto out tonight and not let them get the ‘backs against the wall, tough road victory’. Because if the Raps win that series is going 7 games. The Lakers are more than likely going to sweep the Nuggets, unless somehow they play inspired and together. Can you blame me for nothing thinking that’s going to happen? All that togetherness they had during and after the Nene ordeal and on the playoff run is gone. They look like the same Denver Nuggets who would all end up going to the same movie, except no one invited anyone and they all sat by themselves. Especially after Melo’s comments. Lastly, I think the C’s run over the Hawks. Atlanta got their emotional win, now the C’s take them behind the wood shed and teach them a lesson.
- Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that Kenny Smith is interested in joining the Knicks front office. Reportedly he’ll be having an interview with Mr. Walsh and could be up for GM or assistant GM.
This….this can’t happen. Why would you wanna do this to me Kenny? Inside the NBA is nowhere near jumping the shark, why would you want to break up the greatest studio show in the history of sports to go work for the Knicks. Wait…doesn’t Magic have a front office position with the Lakers? Wait…you can’t be a GM or assistant GM and be on TV. Kenny…don’t you do this to me. And this is from someone who doesn’t even like you that much, just don’t mess up the chemistry. Come on man.
- Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports that former NBA coach Paul Silas thinks that coaching the Bobcats would be a ‘dream job’
First off….I just lost a lot of respect for Paul Silas. I can understand the fact that you live in the area…but a dream job? The Bobcats? Come on man. That would be like me saying my dream job was to work at the Best Buy I’ve shopped at for 10+ years. Apparently Silas doesn’t know that the job is Larry Brown’s. Seriously he probably has had the paperwork so long that he spilled his breakfast on it this morning.
- If you like the Lakers or Mitch Kupchak, read this article by Bryan Chan of the LA Times.
I couldn’t make it past Page 2, only because of the fact that if Memphis had not given Pau Gasol away Kobe wouldn’t have jumped over an Aston Martin. He instead would have stopped Kupchak’s car as he was parking at the Staples Center and beaten him with a 2×4.
Jay-Z really did cut a diss record on DeShawn Stevenson? For real? Why? There was no point. I mean…he barely addresses some rappers, and he’s talking about DeShawn? Oh well. If I was DeShawn I would play that track over and over and wait for the part about me and smile. Because Jay-Z is the man.
