Football Sunday

-Well, not quite a miracle, but I can tell you right now that any worries anyone have about the Philly offense should be dispelled. 5 tds with a little less than 10 min to go in the 2nd QUARTER? Good lord. Kevin Curtis has just gone off with 187 yards and 3 tds — so far.

-I know the networks have to show the local teams, like the Pats here, but they are on CBS. What dumb stupid rule is keeping Fox from showing one game, any game, like the offensive explosion going on in Philly right now. I’d be mad at Fox, cus this happens almost every week, but I have a feeling the NFL is to blame for their monopolizing exclusivity deals with DirecTv and EA Sports — and their subsequent shortchanging on the network channels.

*SJ here hijacking Coup’s post. I had a couple thoughts but I didn’t want to create a new post and bump this down for no reason. Sue me. I was going to brag about how Philly is DECIMATING the Lions right now and how dumb you were for making that pick but then I remembered I’m the same guy who picked the Chiefs, Rams and Falcons. That’s going to make for a pretty bitter wrap-up tonight. And speaking of Philly what is up with the god-awful unis? I saw them on a GameBreak and almost passed out. You think its so bad having to watch the Pats. Try being force-fed the Cardinals for the third straight year. I swear I thought having to watch the Seahawks every week was bad. This Ravens/Cardinals game is atrocious. I’ve been on YouTube with the game on mute periodically looking up and hoping Fox has made a switch. negative. I saw Kurt Warner in the game and I shook my head.

SJ’s hijacking seemed to delete a post or two, one of which was pointing out that Norv Turner needs to figure out how to get LT some half-decent holes to run through. 40 yards on 16 attempts just isn’t going to cut it, no matter how good you make Phil Rivers look.

*You can put the blame on me. Is it sad I got super excited for a GameBreak on a play I knew happened like 15 minutes ago? What is up with Larry Johnson? He has 21 yards on 17 carries and the Chiefs are still somehow in this game. And even though the Eagles are pouncing on the Lions, it isn’t too good that they gave up 21 points in the first half. But it doesn’t really matter when Donovan is finally having a Donovan-like performance. Whoever drafted Kevin Curtis in their fantasy league is loving life right now.

Greg Jennings just took a Favre pass 57 yards for a td. Did I mention he’d be a big-time boost for the passing attack? GB could squeeze this one out. UPDATE: GB did it. Hopefully this doesn’t get lost in the wake of that Philly game, but this was a decent blow to the AFC. Not quite an uppercut to the jaw, but the NFC is doing more than just jabbing away.

-Apparently, Brian Westbrook injured his ribs, putting a damper on my fantasy team’s day (I enjoyed Roy Williams’ 200+ yards and a score as well). Hopefully for Philly, he was just kept out since they were so far ahead.

-Bills’ rookie LB Paul Posluzny was carried off the field with a broken arm. Big blow for a defense that seemed like it finally found a gem in the draft.

*More proof that I’m a moron; the Cardinals came all the way back before falling 26-23. By the way Coup, Joey Harrington’s numbers with 9 minutes left in the second quarter are as follows. 11/15, 175 yards, TD and he’s only been sacked once. Don’t call it a comeback!!
