Here's the latest Portland Trail Blazers news, including a February so bad it set a franchise record, Deandre Ayton's ill-timed injury and bad news for Scoot Henderson about a return from his own injury.

Blazers set franchise record with winless month

Portland went 0-9 in February, bookending the all-star break with six- and three-game losing streaks.

It's the first time in franchise history the Trail Blazers have gone winless in a calendar month, according to Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report.

Portland has just six wins in January and February combined. The team is 6-20 in 2024. And it seems like things are only about to get worse...

Deandre Ayton sprains hand in loss to Miami Heat

Deandre Ayton has been a bright spot for the Blazers recently (if that tells you how things have been going), but even that light has been put out. Ayton collided with Miami's Kevin Love, put his hand down to brace his fall and sprained it during Portland's loss to the Heat on Jan. 27.

Since returning from knee soreness, the 25-year-old has averaged 16.4 points and 10.3 rebounds on 60 percent shooting. Those numbers jump to 18.5 points and 10.7 rebounds with a block over his last 10 games, which included a 26-point, 19-rebound performance in a loss to Charlotte on Feb. 25.

Duop Reath and Ibou Badji are the team's only other active centers.

More bad news on the Scoot Henderson injury front

Rookie point guard Scoot Henderson needs to be playing as much as possible down the stretch of the regular season, but he hasn't taken the floor since tweaking an adductor injury during the Rising Stars Game at all-star weekend. He's missed the Blazers' last three games and it sounds like he's not coming back soon.

Scoot hasn't practiced, isn't progressing and will likely miss Portland's three-game road trip to begin March - at least.

Get ready for a fun final five weeks.
