Would Terry Stotts go from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Indiana Pacers?

Similar to the Trail Blazers, the Indiana Pacers are another talented team that needs a shakeup. The Pacers brass are sure to be hanging their heads while watching former coach Nate McMillan lead the young Atlanta Hawks on their extended playoff run.

The salt on the wound is how unhappy the Pacers players were with the coaching change. After Nate McMillan led Indiana to a 45-28 season and the fourth seed without Victor Oladipo, new coach Nate Bjorkgren followed that up with a 34-38 record and blowout defeat in the play-in game for the eighth seed against the Washington Wizards.

The Pacers would be a great fit for Stotts. Indiana has one of the most underrated backcourts in the league with Malcolm Brogdon and Caris Levert manning the guard spots and a European big even more talented than Jusuf Nurkic in Domantas Sabonis.

The team has a great defensive identity built-in, one of Stotts’s weaknesses, and adding the coach’s offensive brilliance could take the team to the next level.

Now that Stotts was released by the Blazers, Bjorkgren’s seat has to be one of the most scorching left in the league. Don’t be surprised if Terry Stotts is rocking a Pacers blazer at some point this summer.
