The Boston Celtics are on the clock again. They will receive this pick from the Los Angeles Clippers as long as it falls outside of the lottery. This time they select PJ Washington out of Kentucky.
Washington has been on a tear lately. He scored 23 points on Saturday night to lead Kentucky to a huge win over Tennessee. He is now averaging 20.2 points per game in the month of February.
Washington has developed into a versatile big man. He is shooting the ball well from deep (43.4%) this season and has looked comfortable on the perimeter. He can also handle the basketball at times and create his own shot, but he is not much of a playmaker yet. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and has a lot of potential at that end of the floor.
Marcus Morris is set to hit free agency this summer and Washington could help fill his role if needed.
