Outside of Rip City, who do you most want to see get traded at the deadline?
Ashlin: I think that the Grizzlies will move on from both Marc Gasol and Mike Conley. They have been dropping down the Western Conference standings lately, and it is finally time for them to rebuild. Gasol can walk after the season in free agency, and it is smart to move Conley’s massive contract while you still can.
I do not think Anthony Davis gets traded unless he outright demands a trade from New Orleans, which I do not see happening this season. Washington also seems resistant to moving on from John Wall or Bradley Beal.
Patrick: I kinda want to see Terry Rozier moved to the Phoenix Suns. I’m not sure what Boston would want from them (maybe draft picks? TJ Warren?), but the fit seems good for both sides. Rozier needs more minutes, he’s been streaky offensively, and may grade out best as a Patrick Beverly type and fit well next to Devin Booker. The Celtics rotation is clogged with him, Irving, and Smart, and they may become more cohesive with less guard mouths to feed.
Gutbrod: Marc Gasol. Although he has aged past his prime years Gasol is a former Defensive Player of the Year and has a savvy offensive game that will allow his game to continue to age well. A highly intelligent player, Gasol would make an immediate difference at both ends for any team regardless of role or playing time.
Piper: I hope Kevin Love gets dealt because I hate that he’s in the situation he’s in. I’d like to see Anthony Davis traded to make this trade deadline a little spicy, but I’m more confident in Marc Gasol getting moved. I think he’s unhappy again for the second straight season and I think the Grizzlies after losing 11 of their last 12 are in prime position to head towards a youth movement, handing the reins over to Jaren Jackson Jr.
Corn: Bradley Beal is a guy I can see being traded. John Wall is out for the rest of the season and the Wizards are the 10th seed in the East. If there is a time to blow things up it’s now. I would like to see the Hornets be aggressive and make a deal to get Beal and help Kemba Walker out. Charlotte is the 8th seed and them being aggressive and landing Beal could help them climb higher if things worked out.
Gershon: I believe Lonzo Ball is going to get moved and the Lakers are going to get LeBron James some serious help. With James injured the Lakers young core has been exposed as not so great. They need to trade the one with the most valuable to help get LeBron serious help. I think Ball will be that guy. It’s unclear who they will trade for however though I do believe Anthony Davis is a possibility.
