Fictional heartbreak adds insult to injury
Despite a distinct advantage in the physical parts of the game, such as rebounding and defense, the Warriors would ultimately take this series in seven games.
This Portland team doesn’t have a player even close to the caliber of LeBron James, who took down Golden State in last year’s Finals, and that will cost them here.
If the Warriors are hot, they’re going to win the series. You can only hope to contain the offensive firepower of Curry, Thompson and Durant for so long and with the three-point line as a problem area for Portland, the team wouldn’t be able to hang a championship banner in the Rose Garden.
I say Rose Garden, because in this fictional scenario, the Rose Garden takes the cake as the best Blazers arena of all time.
This Portland team would be really, really good. They’d instantly be a contender in the Western Conference, and give fans a reason to watch the Western Conference Finals.

If these two teams battled in the NBA semifinals for a couple years in a row, Portland would probably take one, and eventually win a ring. In an initial seven-game series, though, I’m taking the Dubs. Sorry, Blazers fans.
