It’s a little strange not having a game to look forward to, isn’t it? It’s like the day after the final game of your senior high school sports season. You’ve had practices and games after every day of school for four years, and all the sudden the final bell rings and you find yourself a little unsure of what do to next.

Well, there’s plenty of great playoff basketball to watch, and even if you don’t care about the outcome or aren’t the type of person to follow the league through League Pass during the regular season, you can learn a ton about Portland’s future opponents just by watching them for a few quarters of the postseason.

With the Blazers, you’ve got the draft to look forward to, which is always a fun time with Kevin Pritchard around because of the onslaught of rumors. Then there’s free agency, which, apart from all the superstar coverage, the Blazers will have some exceptions and some very tradeable players should they want to get anything done. There will be Summer League, where Dante Cunningham and Jeff Pendergraph should join Portland’s draftees, and all along there will be plenty of Greg Oden rehab news — for whom I’m sure you’re all going to pitch in for our “Greg Oden Hyperbaric Chamber Fund”.

Throw in all sorts of season review material and perspectives from all around the ‘net with a few quiet summer days in August and before you know it there will be footage of the first arrivals at training camp working out.

As for us at the Rip City Project, we aren’t going anywhere. We’ll be around every day for everything going on with this team, and will be available as much as possible either in our comments section, on Facebook, on Twitter via @ripcityproject or email via ripcityproject@gmail.com. Because even when the games stop, there’s always Blazers to talk.

Hopefully things will be better in the next day or so and we’ll be back to a full writing schedule. Thanks for your patience.
