"Ramsay Way" street sign toppers honor Dr. Jack Ramsay

A few of the streets surrounding the Moda Center have been named over time to commemorate moments and people of importance to the Portland Trail Blazers franchise. There is Drexler Drive, Winning Way, and Wheeler Ave (though that last one may be coincidence—sorry, Wheels). Back in May, the Portland City Council elected to add “Ramsay Way” to the street signs on Winning Way to honor Trail Blazers Championship Coach, Dr. Jack Ramsay, who passed away on April 28th.

As of this afternoon, the temporary Ramsay Way sign toppers are in place and the Trail Blazers are one step closer to permanently building Dr. Jack’s legacy into Portland’s geography. The sign toppers include the plaid insignia that the 2013-14 Trail Blazers wore on their jerseys after Dr. Jack’s death; a nod to Ramsay’s iconic wardrobe. The stunning tribute to the Rip City legend is pictured below:
