2013-14 Portland Trail Blazers Tickets: 5 Most Expensive Home Games

The Portland Trail Blazers have started the season off strong after a disappointing season last year and the fans are beginning to notice. Portland has always had a strong fan base, but this season they seem ready to witness some better basketball. Portland Trail Blazers tickets have a secondary market average of $92.78, which is a 5.68% increase over last season’s average cost of $87.79. While the ticket prices for all season games have gone up, the Blazers’ top five games have prices well above the average.

1) 12/28/13 vs Miami Heat | Avg Price: $315.60 | Get-in Price: $84

The defending NBA champion Miami Heat make their only trip to Portland this season in late December for what is the highest priced Blazers game this season. The $315 price tag is 240% above the average season price and the $84 get-in price is by far the most expensive of any home game. Miami and Portland split two games last season.

2) 3/3/14 vs Los Angeles Lakers | Avg Price: $256.97 | Get-in Price: $61

The biggest Western Conference opponent for Portland is the Los Angeles Lakers. By this point in the season, Kobe Bryant should be back in the lineup for the Lakers. This game is 177% above the average Blazers home game. Even as the Lakers seem to be struggling, the name value of the team still brings interest to this game.

3) 12/26/13 vs Los Angeles Clippers | Avg Price: $220.57 | Get-in Price: $32

The Blazers don’t get to have a Christmas Day game this season, but the earliest top home game of the season comes the day after against the Los Angeles Clippers. The average cost of this game is 137% above the season average, but the get-in price is significantly lower than the two more expensive games on this list.

4) 3/1/14 vs Denver Nuggets | Avg Price: $193.91 | Get-in Price: $30

The Denver Nuggets are the only division rival in Portland’s top five home games. The division game also offers the lowest starting price for the five most expensive games and the first to average a price under $200. Portland went 1-3 in four games against Denver last season, but were able to score 107.5 points per game, their fourth highest scoring average against any team last year.

5) 2/26/14 vs Brooklyn Nets | Avg Price: $189.12 | Get-in Price: $38

The star power of the Brooklyn Nets brings them to the final spot of Portland’s top five games. Deron Williams was once a rival of the Trail Blazers while he was the point guard of the Utah Jazz, but now he’ll lead his team of veterans into Rose Garden Arena representing an Eastern Conference team. Tickets for this matchup are 103% above the season average.

Portland will hope its strong start to the season can last throughout these big games. Behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, the Blazers could be hoping to get back into the playoffs after missing out last year. Playing well in these top games will be a key to success over the length of the season.
