Trail Blazers rookie, CJ McCollum, injured his left foot in practice today, after colliding with a teammate during scrimmage. This is the same foot that McCollum broke during his tenure at Lehigh that forced him to miss all but 12 games in his senior season. The injury is being called a sprain, though the exact nature of the damage has yet to be confirmed. It is unknown how much time he will miss, though his availability for Fan-Fest tomorrow will be limited.
On the bright side, veterans Dorell Wright (dislocated finger) and Mo Williams (sprained ankle) returned to practice today. LaMarcus Aldridge even practiced fully. After a discouraging start, the Blazers’ training camp has become a ‘two steps forward, one step back’ situation—much improved from the prior reversal. Of the six players injured in camp thus far, only three remain sidelined:
Will Barton (concussion), Earl Watson (calf contusion), CJ McCollum (foot sprain)
More injury updates to come as the Blazers continue to re-enact their bizarre spin on Final Destination.
