What You Need To Know About FanFest

First off, the annual Portland Trail Blazers Wells Fargo FanFest has been scheduled for Sunday, October 6th; just one day before their first pre-season matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. If you’re hoping to see the Blazers being themselves and enjoying off-season shenanigans just one more time before they get down to business for the year, FanFest is your opportunity to do that.

Free tickets and family passes can be found at all Wells Fargo banks in Oregon and some parts of Southwest Washington. FanFest will take place in the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter. Parking will be free, however, it is subject to availability, so if you would like to minimize any stress on your legs and wallet, get there early. The doors open at 5 p.m.

Event Features include, but are not limited to:

  • A performance by our lovely Blazer Dancers and Stunt Team, who will display a new look and new moves after training at the Pro Action Dance Convention in Las Vegas this summer.
  • Prize giveaways from the Blazers’ mascot, Blaze the Trail Cat. I don’t know what these prizes will be, but I’d wager that if you like t-shirts cannons and gift cards, October 6th is your lucky day.
  • The ever-popular rookie hazing dance routine. Last year’s dance was The Dougie, and Damian Lillard  stole the show with a variation that would make Carlton Banks proud.
  • And, of course, the headline intra-team scrimmage at 6 p.m. It is a great opportunity to check the cohesion of Portland’s retooled roster in a no-pressure environment.

Be sure to get your tickets as soon as possible. The Rose Garden has a new name, but the occupancy has remained the same. It may not seem like it, but October 6th is only 12 days away.
