Hey there, Rip City Project readers. Because of school starting back up, new things happening in my life and other ongoing writing responsibilities, I’ve let David know that it’s time for me to leave RCP.

It’s been a damn great run, being here to write about one of my favorite teams in the Blazers. Maybe a little shorter than I would’ve liked, considering that tomorrow would’ve been “just” my fourth month here. That said, I’ve enjoyed writing here during the summer. It’s been an absolutely great place for me to break into the wonderful world that is basketball blogging.

I have to say thanks to David, who’s been a great editor, guiding hand and all-around person along the way. Between him, Jason, and Brandon, I really think RCP has a great talent base going forward. Recently, David has been doing a great job covering the Eurobasket tournament. Jason’s put up an outstanding preview post on Dorell Wright. Brandon’s just started up a series of video podcasts, which I expect is going to make for a great feature here at RCP.

I’m glad to say I’ve been able to write here at RCP, and alongside such talented people as well. The only thing I might really regret is not getting to cover this season, which I’m sure holds great things for the Blazers after Neil Olshey’s great offseason. While I’m extremely wary of the Timberwolves and the Nuggets, I think we have a legitimate shot at being the seventh or eighth seed in the West this season. I’m expecting great things from our new acquisitions, as well as continued development from Damian Lillard in his second season and our pair of wings in Nicolas Batum and Wes Matthews.

I won’t be stopping my basketball blogging altogether. In case you’d like to continue reading my work (and if so, thank you very much!) or you’re also a fan of one of these teams, I’m over at Welcome to Loud City, SBNation’s Thunder blog, as well as Beale Street Bears, Fansided’s Memphis Grizzlies blog. As much as I love the Blazers, I have to say that for me, the Grizz and the Thunder come first!

So, this looks like goodbye. Thanks to David and the rest of Rip City Project once again, this is truly a great community of Blazers bloggers, and more importantly, Blazers fans that’s being built here. You can hit me up on Twitter at @KevinHFY at any time, and whether you want to talk Blazers, NBA, or anything at all, I’ll definitely get back to you!

Keep a good look on, Blazers fans! – Kevin
