New Team New Dream New Marketing


The Trail Blazers’ official communications department has released information regarding their new marketing for 2012-13. If you’ve been to the team’s official website you’ve seen it.

Here’s the official release complete with quotes from Portland brass:

PORTLAND – With a roster loaded with new faces and returning veteran leaders, the Portland Trail Blazers released a new media campaign themed “New Team. New Dream.  Featuring star players LaMarcus Aldridge,Nicolas Batum and WesleyMatthews, but also showcasing touted top draft picks Damian Lillard and Meyers Leonard, the campaign is available now on www.trailblazers.com.  First up for Trail Blazers fans are up-close looks at veteran shooting guard Matthews and rookie sensation Lillard.

“There’s so much that’s new about this team,” said Trail Blazers EVP and COO Sarah Mensah.  “We have a new coach, a new general manager, a host of new players and a refreshing new direction.  Because of this, there is a tremendous amount of wonderment and anticipation among our fans regarding who these players are and the real stories behind their lives and personalities.  New Team. New Dream. offers unfiltered personal insights directly from our players and head coach via personal testimonials, photographic images and unique footage.”

The full online vignettes range from four to six minutes in length on the team’s website.  Shorter versions and memorable outtakes will be peppered across social media platforms; featured during Trail Blazers game broadcasts; and woven into advertising around popular TV shows and sports programming.  Other Trail Blazers to be featured in future segments include Joel Freeland, Ronnie Price, J. J. Hickson and new Head Coach Terry Stotts.  The campaign is positioned as an inspiring launch point and rallying anthem to trigger the 2012-13 season. The Trail Blazers utilized Portland-based companies Limbo Films and Sockeye Creative as consultants on the development and production of the new campaign.

The Rose Garden has long been recognized as one of the NBA’s most energetic and intimidating buildings in which to play.  Tickets are available for all games this season, including a limited number for opening night on Oct. 31st.  Fans are encouraged to wear the color red on opening night as the Trail Blazers will unveil a new alternate red uniform.
