Game 66 Recap: Blazers 94, Jazz 96

It’s finally over. A two-point loss to he eighth seed in the West is better than a 40-point loss to the one seed, but it’s still a loss. I’ve avoided the “worst season ever” rhetoric, because there have been worse Blazers seasons, even within the last five years. I will say it would have been nice to win more than once in the last 10 games.

Ah well. There will be plenty to talk about in the upcoming weeks as Portland prepares for the draft and next season. There will also be plenty to talk about when the Playoffs start this coming weekend. As for the Blazers 66th game and their 38th loss, well there’s not a whole lot there.

Luke Babbitt didn’t win the three-point title. Jamal Crawford (without playing much in the last few weeks) did win the free throw shooting title. As fans, we don’t win the sucker prize, but we do win the super sucker prize, having the only positive result of the season come directly from what turned out to be one of the season’s running negatives.

Thanks everybody for reading and all that stuff. Give me a few days, and I’ll come up with my season retrospective.

You win the persistent reporter award, having braved what has to be one of the worst seasons in the franchise’s history.  Good job.
