With UFC 102 coming up this weekend in Portland, I did a quick Q&A with fellow Fansided blogger Kipp Tribble on his MMA blog Rear Naked Joke. Topics include a duel between Clyde Drexler and Terry Porter, how well former Blazer Dancer Ione matches up in UFC and which Blazers would fare best in MMA.

Yes, the title of this post may have been ripped off (in a very corny fashion) from the UPS commercials. However, in my opinion, the question is very valid. What can Outlaw do for us? As I’m sure you’ve heard by now, today the Blazers officially announced two new uniforms that can be used during the 2009-10 season. Through the official Blazer twitter, pictures were released and it was also confirmed that the jerseys have been approved. It has not been announced when these uniforms will be worn. The first is a Hardwood Classic throwback to a uniform I believe the Blazers first busted out in 1975. A year I know they wore it in? 1977. Coincidence? I think not. I was tweeting about this yesterday, and I’m still thinking about…what are realistic expectations for this Blazer team?? Last year, Coup and myself (rightfully) downplayed the hype and grand expectations to just hope to make it to the playoffs. Obviously, just scraping into the playoffs this year would be a complete disappointment. However, we’re looking at coming back after a 54-win season with minimal losses (sorry Channing and Sergio but I’m not sorry), the addition of Andre Miller (upgrade at PG either way you slice it), the potential growth of Greg Oden, Rudy Fernandez, Nic Batum, the return of Martell [...]

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer  reports that forward Leon Powe is “closing in” on a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Yahoo Sports! reports that the deal would be two years for the minimum if Cleveland’s doctors are “satisfied with the progress of his injured left knee”. Powe re-tore his left ACL in the Playoffs and dating back to his days at the University of California, has struggled with knee injuries.
