Rashard Lewis to world: We’re Going to the Eastern Conference Finals!!!

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Please tell me anyone else saw Rashard Lewis’ post-game interview where he said “We’re going to the Eastern Conference Finals!”, please, please, please. I rewound it about 10 times to make sure and he definitely said it. Unbelievable. At least KG had an excuse with his flub…but man. Can’t wait to find the YouTube clip. Here is said YouTube clip, the ‘Magic’ happens at about 38 to 41. Boom, roasted. Also, sidenote, Dwight grabbing the microphone from Ernie and making that speech makes me question his likeability. I’m struggling to get some intrigue for this Magic/Lakers Finals, because I can’t stand [...]

I don’t know LeBron…

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

…I don’t know…whether I should applaud LeBron James for his insane performance tonight or throw up at the fact that he’s literally gone 1-on-5 for the last five minutes. I’m leaning toward applauding because 37/14/12 is s-i-c-k no matter how you slice it….but I can’t have been the only one who was just a little disturbed by Cleveland’s “offense” down the stretch. It’s no different than what they have been doing (aka relying on LeBron) but it just felt so much more blatant it rubbed me the wrong way I guess. I don’t know how to explain it, something just bothered [...]

Steve Blake having shoulder sugery tomorrow

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Doesn’t seem like anything too serious and he should be back before training camp. The 6-8 week recovery period might make Blake a little harder to trade when free agency hits in July, though, so keep that in mind. That’s about all there is to the story. Hopefully Blake makes a fast and full recovery.

Ramon Sessions ready to be stolen?

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

If you’re one of those Blazer fans who want to see Portland sign Ramon Sessions this off-season, here is some good news. From Tom Enlund of the… *deep breath* Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel (phew) comes news that the Bucks are looking to make ‘sound financial decisions’ and have ‘financial discipline’. Essentially, they don’t want to pay the luxury tax. Maybe they’ll trade their pick which would free a little bit of cash up who knows, but it looks as if they won’t be able to match offers for both Charlie Villanueva and, you guessed it, Mr. Sessions. Here is the thing [...]

The Case for Turkoglu

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

In case you missed by plea for Hedo Turkoglu yesterday, scroll down to the ‘Happy Memorial Day’ post and you’ll see my thoughts. Now comes this link from Empty the Bench (via Ball Don’t Lie) which discusses what comes next for Turkoglu. Writer Brendan K. O’Grady names three possible destinations and I’ll give you a quick guess on what team is one of them: “Portland Trailblazers: This could be the best fit possible for both Hedo and the Blazers. With Nate McMillan unable to establish a clear first option at the 3 between Nic Batum and Martell Webster, and the [...]

Mo Williams guarantees victory…

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Oh. Wow. Dear Mo, I see your guarantee and I can’t help but shake my head. Why don’t you sit this next one out and stop talking for a while. Not trying to be rude, but man…just trying to help! Also for  future reference, if your team is down 2-1 (really 3-0) and you’re on the road and one of the main reasons why your team is down 2-1 is because you haven’t shown up…you really shouldn’t say anything to the media. Especially not any sort of guarantee. I mean for said series you’re shooting 32% from the field (18-for-56), 25% [...]

Nate Robinson wants to go to Portland

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

It would make sense if most of this were somewhat true, including the part about it not making sense for Portland and the Blazers having little interest in bringing Robinson in (and thus handicapping their financial freedom). My favorite part was one of the first comments talking about dealing Chris Duhon for Rudy… Because of Nate’s Northwest ties, I have the feeling this is going to be one of those rumors that just won’t go away until he’s signed a contract. That said, I don’t want to completely write this off, just because Robinson is a gamer.

Happy Memorial Day…

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Just thought I’d take a quick second to wish everyone out there a happy Memorial Day. Except for you Sean Elliott, you ruined this day for me years ago. All joking aside, I’d also like to thank all of those who have fallen while fighting for this country. Quick thoughts on some things I read around the internet over the past couple days: Sergio Rodriguez had a Spanish article talking about how he wants to go to a team that trusts him and fits his style and what not. Here is the original text en Espanol. That’s not the story. [...]

Nick Calathes to Greece…

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Orlando Sentinel and ESPN both report that University of Florida point guard Nick Calathes will skip the NBAD Draft after signing with Greek team Panathinaikos. The deal is reportedly going to pay him $1.1 million dollars a year total. A major reason why this happened is the fact that Calathes is Greek, has dual citizenship and a Greek passport. For those who don’t know, European teams have limits on the number of Americans they can carry on a team. An American with any sort of international passport is a major plus and they usually tend to make more money. Remember [...]

Sippin’ on Haterade: Kobe & LeBron edition

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

Time to just get some mess off my chest. It’s inevitable that as a human being you’re going to hate on someone else. Whether it’s a celebrity, an athlete, a rapper, a politician, a boss or co-worker, your friend, your friend’s friend…you’re going to spew some unfounded hate. In that same vein, if you talk about basketball and you’re having a discussion with 75% of the world…you’re going to be called a hater. I don’t know who started it, but it is the most convenient (and annoying) way out of having a discussion about basketball. “You’re just a hater”. I [...]
