I think we all agree, we'd like to see a better flow in the game. It's no secret that NBA officiating is the worst out of all the major sports. I mentioned Pryzbilla being a flopper but Houston has a few of their own in Scola and Battier(borderline). I hate that the referees reward the flop.

I think the difference in FTA is basically Yao getting calls on Oden and Pryzbilla. The Rockets do shoot a lot of jumpers, but they also take it to the rim(Wafer,Landry,Lowry) enough to get whistles.

I think this series is headed back to Houston. Portland as a city will be crazy excited and I think they'll pull off a close one.

Well, the Blazers are getting away with murdering Yao in their previous 2 games ...that is why the refs are cleaning this shyt up. Yao got called for ridiculous fouls that wasn't even his fault. Sure, when you're looking in a Blazers' fan perspective you don't see it that way...you see that everything seems to be correct. But your defenders have been overly aggressive in the previous 2 games and it should not be allowed in the NBA. Another reason Yao got just 1 foul is because he knew he hurt the team in the other games because of foul trouble. So he made the effort of not to repeat that again....no surprise there.

Alex, there's not much of a point in arguing about Oden at this stage of the season. As for the refs, I was less annoyed at the lack of calls on Houston (Portland did catch up in FTA's) but more on the inconsistency of their calls. One play they are calling weak holding calls in the post, the next they are letting guys deliver flying elbow drops. The Blazers got a gift or two from the refs, but there has been zero flow to this entire series, and much of that is due to officiating.

Is three minutes of uninterrupted hoops to much to ask for?

Can't turn the ball over 6 times in the 4th quarter and expect to win in the playoffs. It's impossible. Es impossible. C'est impossible. It's so impossible it's un-possible.

And then on top of that Portland gave Houston a gajillion second chances...and yeah.

Portland can steal Game 6.

I gotta' say, definitely enjoyed this blog. Very funny. Props. And when it comes to the officiating, you're right, I can't blame it for costing us games when we make the kinds of mistakes we've made. But what it DOES do is it practically removes our centers from the game in the first quarter because of the foul bombs being dropped on them. I mean, even accepting every foul that's called on Gregzilla as completely fair, your point is a very good one: how exactly does Yao Ming play 44 minutes with 1 foul?

And yes Alex, we do need to be more aggressive, but it's hard to do when you are consistently seeing teammates drive to the hoop only to be elbowed, bumped, and otherwise hammered without a whistle. By the way, I could be terribly mistaken, but I'm pretty sure Houston has practically the same shot selection as Portland.

I really do believe that we'll win Game 5. If we can do that, I think we have a good shot at winning the series. The games have been close in Houston, even as bad as we've been playing, so there's definitely a possibility there for our guys to pull through. Go Blazers.

T.R.O.Y. is the greatest rap song ever.

Be honest with yourself right now, is Greg Oden anything other than a hack on defense and when there's a rebound to be had? Be honest? Doesn't he always have to get yanked for foul trouble? That's who he is right now. Can't blame the refs when that's been his game all year.

Pryzbilla is a flopper. One of the biggest in the league. Sometimes I wonder if fans realize when their teams have a flopper. He's not hard-nosed or tough. When the going gets tough, he flops. Act like you know.

What fouls do you want to be called on Houston when your team is a jump shooting team? Hard to foul LaMarcus when he's a 7 footer fading away. Joel and Greg have no offesive game so there's no need to foul them. Outlaw-jump shooter, Blake-same. You basically want all the fouls called on Brandon Roy to equal all the fouls called on the Rockets?
