Oooooh, comments. Tasty. I'll respond to all of you in one, by your number.

1. It won't be so fun when I call Dwyane 'please don't call me The Rock' Johnson and tell him how you said 'lay the beat down' instead of 'lay the smack down'.

2. I concur.

3. It's an agonizing two and half day wait just sitting and stewing in this. I figure this is what waking up in your own sick is like...except you can't get up for a day. Anyways, watching these other games have made me feel ok. A lot of teams have gotten pummelled in this year's playoffs.

4. If LaMarcus continues to struggle the Blazers can't win. For two reasons. We can't replace his production, he is our low-post offense. Also if we keep throwing it to him and trying to get him going and he can't...guess what the offense stagnates. Double trouble if LMA can't get his groove back.

5. Thanks for peeping the analogy. We're still very far from crossing that bridge but if Portland indeed does go down, that will be fine. Expectations were demolished. The goal was to just make the playoffs this year. Home-court gives us our best chance to make it but if defeat decides to visit it's not the end of the world. To the rally...I thought that was more for the fans and the team just appeared than anything. A nice gesture to a fanbase that has been through a lot is what I took out of it.

6. Wow, Leon. I read the first three paragraphs and was feeling good like I wasn't the only one trying to stay positive and you hit me with the Rockets in 5. Damn. I feel like you blind-sided me. It's like if a girlfriend were to tell me all these great things about our relationship and then break up with me. That's how I feel right now. Damn.

Without doubt, Blazers are indeed a very good team.
But the Houston Rockets went out there, and they were experienced and focused.

I'm sure adjustments will be made, and we'll definitely see changes in the next game.
Like Yao said, "you should treat a series 0-0 until you actaully win it."
It's not over yet.

Blazer fans, we still have games to go.
Let the excitement continue on Tuesday.
Cheers.

Your analogy of the hot shot 8th grader who gets his butt kicked in high school tryouts is right on point. The Blazers are kids whose immaturity showed last night. They didn't follow the game plan and they seemed in awe of the Rockets. I was surprised they didn't ask for the Rockets autographs after the game.

Also, should we be surprised the Blazers got trounced last night. The city gives them a big celebration in Pioneer Courthouse Square for making the playoffs. A celebration for making the playoffs? Hell, more than half the NBA teams make the playoffs. When you make such a big deal out of a rather insignificant accomplishment like making the playoffs, you shouldn't expect the team to accomplish much more this season.

Finally, as a lifelong Cubs fan, I reminded of their motto: Wait till next year. Let's hope Blazers fans don't suffer the same fate as Cubs fans and have to wait over 100 years.
