It’s Saturday

This will be constantly updated with my thoughts as we go on. LeBron James is extremely disappointing. He simply is not clutch. Watching this Bulls games…he takes bad shots, he has struggled to even get the ball. He missed two threes, gave the last shot in regulation to Sasha Pavlovic. I mean come on…stop passing the ball out to Donyell Marshall, go to the rack and try and get fouled. The Cavaliers are not doing anything this year, remember I said that. Anyone remember when Ernie Kent’s job was in doubt? Now he is up there with Bruce Pearl and [...]

Wow

So Van Gundy makes a great move, up 95-92 to foul Kwame Brown. Tom Tolbert and Mark Jones have an orgasm, I log on to the blog to write about it. Kwame then clanks two, game over right? Wrong. Ball bounces, bounces, Kobe gets it. Kobe dribbles, shoots a three…. Money. Tie game… Ensuing possession…Kobe plays great D on T-Mac, not even allowing him to use Yao’s screen and forcing him to shoot a tough shot. Can the Rockets recover or is this just Kobe’s night? I love this game.

April Showers

I just thought it was appropriate. ESPN actually is showing the Lakers/Rockets game so good for them. It is in a double-header with the Magic/Pacers. Talk about your contrast in games…The Pacers have lost 16 of 18, jumping out of the playoffs while the Magic aren’t doing themselves any favors. The Pacers haven’t missed the playoffs since 1997. That’s pretty crazy, they’re like the East Coast Blazers (ba-dum-CHING). I agree T-Mac has been under the radar, so under the radar that when they put him on the cover of Live o7 I was like ‘what did he do last year?’ [...]

The Calm Before the Storm

It’s coming. What may seem like just another quiet, relaxed Friday afternoon is about to become an amalgam of events the type of which we rarely see. Luckily I was able to catch up on Lost this week so I could clear some space on my DVR. So where do we begin? Kobe vs. T-Mac of course, tonight at 10:30 ET. Now naturally, ESPN will not be showing you this matchup because they couldn’t resist the opportunity to show us the magnificent beauty of a Clippers v. Kings game. Priceless. This game is interesting because it’s been quite some time [...]

Beautiful Day

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

TGIF! I remember screaming that almost every Friday when I was little. I remember watching TGIF. I’ve been sitting here, just enjoying a lovely Friday. Reason #1 why today was lovely; my one and only class was cancelled. I am telling you there is nothing like walking to the door of your class and seeing that it is cancelled. Sure it would have been nice to know before making the walk all the way the class but it is still a beautiful feeling. That’s my favorite walk home. The “I don’t have shit to do bring on the weekend’ walk. [...]

Frustrating

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

The vaunted ‘give Z-Bo the ball and watch’ offense resulted in a home loss to the hopeless Grizzlies. Mr. Bereavement had 43 and 17…and we lose? You go around the L and tell every team their best player is getting 43/17, guess what thats usually a W. Not for the Blazers. Fun fact; the Blazers are 5-7 when Zach scores 30+. Another fun fact; Zach hasn’t shot less than 10 shots in a game this year. He is a reckless gunner and he will never be successful in the League. He can put up great numbers (given a multitude of [...]

Really?

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

Kevin Pritchard is the Blazers new GM. And I’m still not sure how I feel about it. He says all the right things, he sounds like he knows what he’s talking about, but is he really the man to right the ship? I will give him credit he managed to not botch a draft, reminding us Blazer fans what it’s like to have actual good rookies who are ready to contribute. But what else has he done? I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and I really hope he does it, but I just hope this isn’t too much [...]

Under the Radar

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

So everyone knows the Washington State story. Picked to finish in the Pac-10 basement, they turned it all around blah blah blah. So they make the tournament…but all the talk from the end of the season to when the lost was ‘is Tony Bennett going to leave?’ I think it’s funny how everyone was talking and speculating on if he would leave and when he would and how Washington State wouldn’t have the resources to keep him and how Bennett would sprint out of the hellhole. (And no matter what you hear, Pullman and Spokane, WA…that is a hell-hole. Worst [...]

Steroids…

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

In response to this comment made on one of today’s posts: Anonymous said… I wouldn’t say baseball gets a “free pass,” certainly you’re right about an NFL player doing this and the media throwing a shit-fest, but look at what they’re doing with the steroids controversy in the MLB. Tell me that issue doesn’t get as much, if not more attention than Artest, etc. does. We’re on the same page here, but my point about the steroids issue is that while yes, many of the substances are illegal, at least now, most media personalities and fans alike get more upset about [...]

Enough Is Enough

AUTHOR: | IN: Blazers | COMMENTS: None Yet

So I walk into the locker room after a tough workout (apparently I’m training to be the World’s Strongest Man, new knowledge to me) and who do I see on my TV screen? Kevin Love. *ahem* Excuse me, 2007 McDonald’s National Player of the Year Kevin Love. His team must of went undefeated right? Nope. They won the state championship right? Nope, I think Kyle Singler and South Medford did. Hmm…I don’t quite get it. Maybe I’m blinded by the fact that the little time I did guard him in the 05 State Championship he did not score on me or [...]
